Iran: NATO Missile threat to Turkish security

NATO, iran missile
Iran insists, Patriot Missile North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to be installed at the border of Turkey and Syria, would threaten the security of Turkey. Iran also accused the West wants to create a war in the Middle East.

NATO has approved the placement of missiles in Turkey which starts worrying about the threat of Syria. But Iran has opposed the move because it considered would endanger regional security.

"The installation of Patriot missiles in Turkey will not help improve security and it will threaten the security of Turkey itself. Western always wanted to impose his will and we are not agreeing Western presence in our region," said Iranian Defense Minister Gen. Ahmad Vahidi, told ISNA on Saturday (12.22.2012).

The issue of NATO missile proved quite tense relations between Iran and Turkey partnerships. Turkey believes Iran inappropriate to comment on the placement of the missile as Iran is not a NATO member state.

Turkey also has repeatedly explained to the world that the missiles would not be used to attack. Those missiles are defensive missiles.

Iran accuses the West also had to train Syrian troops who fought against the opposition, but Vahidi denied the report. Vahidi insisted Syria had a military that is strong enough and ready to face Israel.

"Syria does not need to hold military exercises with the Islamic Republic of Iran, since Syria already has a strong military and ready to face the Zionist regime,"
